Deoxycholic Acid is used for adults to improve the appearance and profile of moderate to severe submental fat (Double chin). Deoxycholic Acid is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat.
What is DEOXYCHOLIC ACID? “Fat Dissolving”
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Injected (by a certified injector) into submental fat beneath your chin where is causes the destruction of fat cells. A total of three treatments is usually necessary.
WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS?
The most common side effects include swelling, bruising, pain, redness, firmness and numbness all of which are temporary and will subside. Fat Dissolved by way of Deoxycholic Acid is permanent. If a significant weight gain occurs (20+lbs) post treatment, there is a chance you will grow fat back in the submental area.
